Little Demon
I finally managed to get this shot of one of our garden European Robins as he stopped by one of our feeders. Robins are so fast to and from the feeder that I’d all but given up! ;o) I think he’s saying “oh no, the old bat got me this time!” Still it is the least he can do for feeding him and his pals all year round. British Robins especially look awful cute, are very good at supervising the gardener, but can be territorial and stroppy little featherballs!

Canon EOS 5D and 20D – this was shot with the 20D with a Canon 400mm L series lens – a fantastic lens, even though it is only a 5.6 and has no image stabiliser.

What a lovely bird, Krys. European robins are quite different from the American variety but every bit as beautiful. In fact, this little fellow looks a bit like the Eastern bluebird which is also a member of the thrush family. I can see the resemblances. Cousins from across the pond! Thanks for adding this lovely image!

It’s a very pretty bird, but as said above, very different from American robins. Our robins aren’t interested in bird-feeders. They’re meat-eaters. They only like worms.

what a cutie… they are so small compared to our Robins… at least that is how it appears. =) I have a pair of robins that has made a nest in our Arbor… no eggs yet. now that we are back from vacation, I hope we don’t scare them off.
