Prairie Sun

Prairie Sun

Rudbeckia Prairie Sun.

This photo was selected to be the front cover of Essential Watergarden Magazine in the UK a couple of years ago. Not bad for a shot from a local garden centre.

Beautiful shot, and one of the very best cards I’ve seen. I have taken my camera to a local garden center, but an employee got suspicious and made me stop taking pictures. I haven’t been back there yet. I’m not quite through punishing them. Maybe in June…

  • Krys Bailey replied

That is so not fair, Nancy! Funnily enough, just yesterday I was back at the garden centre where I shot this pic, snapping away at their latest offerings, and an employee came up to me to comment on what lovely colours the flowers were that I was photographing. He wasn’t in the least bit bothered. I ended up buying 3 plants from them. Its good for their business if I go there to snap their flowers!

Agreed!! But I suspected that she thought I might “make money” off their stuff. She said she had to shoo off some lady the week before too for doing the same thing. Well, there are other garden marts around. (Though theirs is the prettiest, I think)

Another RB’er I know was asked not to take pics of the flower section at the Supermarket in my area.

That is amazing, Nancy! How illogical! Maybe the UK garden centres take a totally different view since I frequent several garden centres and have never had to hide my camera (even if initially I felt a bit conspicuous photographing stuff – I’m used to it now!)
