drowning kittens

the wind, it licks and spreads the fires
over the fields, dry, arid and vast
the gulleys and glens once nubile and fresh
are charred as pits of burning flesh

stars dim from smoke and ash and flame
the moon still smiles through all the chaos
the earth, it writhes and squirms and screams
demons beneathe, they curl in dreams

naked heat screams and feeds
on air once cool and crisp and clean
and soon, in war, lovers cringe
as sober children, continue to whinge

raped with consent, just dont forget
the shadows deep among the rapists head
if all is well in open field
it shall not be, for long

and flies, they swarm on corpse still warm
as sunlight pierces through, so too does dawn
with bones of chalk and spine of thorn
i still breathe…

dying, just to live once more
fickle life, i defy
i deny all feeling that this pain is mine
and if it is… it shall not be for ever.
