Ever since I was bitten with the photography bug, my dream and goal has been to get published in a book, magazine, newspaper, whatever medium it didn’t matter. This past spring a local shop in town called Downhome (the biggest promoter of Newfoundland art and photography) notified me that they were putting out a book within the next few months that was to represent Newfoundland through pictures. They had told me that they were considering using 2 of my images… well I was sooooooo excited and I couldn’t believe it. As the spring came and went and the summer faded to fall, I had completely forgotten about the book. I hadn’t heard anything more about the book or my images. It wasn’t unitl I was browsing through a local shop in town just before Christmas that I saw the book on shelves and immediatley I started flipping through the pages to see if just by chance my shots were there. The suspense was killing me. Well I got halfway through the book and then I saw it ON GUARD my first published image… what a thrill! I continued to look through the book and towards the end I saw another of my images CITY OF COLORS I was in awe and sooooo thrilled. I ran up to my wife and showed her, her excitement almost matched mine. It was such an awesome feeling. Days later the mail came and with it a parcel arrived… I opened it and to my delight the company had sent me a copy of the book.

It has been such a fantastic experience to have some of my works published. It is a tremendous honor that others find my work appealing. I find the support of the community on this site a real motivation and it really brings out the best in my work. So I thank all you Redbubblers that have stopped by and looked through my portfolio. Your comments are always welcome and your advice is much appreciated.

Congratulations Kev. Its great to have the little brother published. I have a copy of the book sitting on my Alberta mantle. Everyone here at Christmas was so excited to look at the book and see your photos. Job well done. It makes it all worth it doesnt it? Love ya man
