holy wow!!! I think someone could actually do an entire photography class on just this one image … what little I know, or think I know, this image illustrates to a T!!!!!!! The perfectly in-focus ropes leading the eye to the ship, the detail there is spectacular … love the various colors of blues, fascinating sky, perfect balance of the warming elements of the red in the rope and in the building on the other side … and the shot certainly does tell a story!!! Even worked in some wonderful light and shadow!!!! This one gets favorited for sure!!!! Congratulations on your win in the Nautical Challenge!!!! Fabulous shot!!!!!

Spectacular image!!

My grandfather and his brother immigrated from Nova Scotia to the US in the late 1800’s. He was a shipbuilder of these old ships, and his brother became a captain of a whaling ship that sailed out of Mystic Conn.. I get the same feeling as you when I see an old ship. I can remember the tales that the family would tell about the life on one of these vessels. Nice capture and highlighting of the special character of this ship.

took a while to get down to the bottom of this page but I have to add my ‘stunning’ to all the others. Fabulous.
