The historical reconstruction of the “Siege of Canelli – year 1613” takes place on the third weekend of June. The festival commemorates a real episode happened at the beginning of the seventeenth century. This event, the only reconstruction of its kind, celebrates the victory of the people of Canelli and a small regiment of soldiers of Savoy against the Army of Monferrato let by the Duke of Mantua. About three thousand people in costumes give life to a page of history and for two days about 20 inns and taverns, accurately fit in the style of the seventeenth century, offer menus exactly repeating the recipes of that century. Meanwhile, duels with cold steel, battles with ancient cannons, and cavalry charges are brought into life again in an enthralling atmosphere.

This is the original shot:
First processed in Lightroom 3 (I always shoot RAW, so that’s standard), like clarity, lights and darks and than I used CS4 with a texture from OnOneSoftware (Freeframes) to give it an old feel.
