Artist's Description

The juxtaposition of the filigree ironwork and the signs was what caught my eye – then I considered the positioning of the words they carried and knew that this could be contentious.

So far I’ve been told I should have photographed it from the other end (but then the composition would have been spoilt) and that it is a political statement showing that women are always behind men (for good or for bad). It’s not a political statement, it’s a photograph, and hopefully one you’ll like.
