I cannot go past a flamingo without referring to it as a ‘croquet bat’ – a hangover from reading Alice in Wonderland too many times over the years. I’m sure I’d have to recite the Walrus and the Carpenter if I saw a walrus, too, although carpenters don’t affect me in quite the same way…

The green and the white reminds me of a Brett Whiteley cricket painting I saw once, (bats again.) Regardless this old bird looks like he has a great deal of character according to your very stand out portrait Karen.
