Wow. Wanna be rediculously similar to Roy Lichtenstein? Nah, but seriously, nice art.

Bryan, it is an homage to Roy’s work (which in turn is an homage to romance comics). While it is based on Lichtenstein’s pop art style it is 100% my art and idea. You’ll find nothing similar to this in his body of work.

This looks nothing like Roy Lichtenstein, he worked mostly in oil and acrylics, and it is easy to see the difference.
To me this looks totally original, and it’s a great picture…

I know it’s original art. I wasn’t critisizing, that was just my first impression on seeing it. I really admire your art, and having studied Lichtenstein for my year 12 Studio Arts, I know I can’t make anything like this, to anywhere near this quality. You are awesome.

Roy Lichtenstein was a GOD (at least to me anyway…), there’s no harm in taking inspiration from his work in my opinion :) Besides he copied panels from DC comics (some of the lesser known ones) and reworked them. So yeah… I forgot my point there…. XD

I love her hair and his expression, the punch line is fantastic too! I really do enjoy that you’ve chosen to adopt this style for the portayal of a fifties couple. Did you hand letter this? If not, I’d like to know where you got it pleeease :)
