I have always held a deep fascination and curiosity for old, abandoned, run down buildings.
I brought several different outfit changes including a long black skirt, lacy, soft dresses, and several pieces of my Mama’s favorite jewelry thinking that I would love to get a ghostly, other worldly feel at this shoot. (My Mama passed away 4 years ago so using her jewelry in the shoot made it extra special)
I took about 300 photos with me in various outfits and in different places around and inside this old house.
At the end of the day I changed back into my regular clothes but forgot I still had my Mama’s sparkly necklace on. I decided on one more shot just for fun before packing up my yellow chair and heading home.
Of all the photos I got that day, even though several are quite good, this one speaks to me. The necklace just seems to pop out and dazzle against the broken down and forgotten house and my jeans and tank top.
It reminds me that my Mama is always with me and her spirit is shining through me every day.
