born of air and Aquarius heart
of wide open spaces and Canadian winter
snow glistening off her eyes like diamonds

wounded and bruised
a tender child of innocence
broken and used
the ripple effects
leaving this beautiful life force
just so very
tired and worn
and unrecognized
as worthy of love and praise
of any kind

muted and strained
displaced and silent

the strength of steel though
inside a champions soul
molten and unchained
runs through super human veins

as she rebels against the shatter
that might completely down her

the shards of a tattered spirit
only served to reinforce her victory

she builds a lair made of solitude and myrrh

settles in and set aflame the sorrow
the tears that used to rip her
and drown her in their essence of pain

a slow fire consumes her
searing her over bruised skin

as destruction renews
replenishes her lost vitality

the orange crimson tango
distresses
redresses

the inferno blazes and purifies her
leaving in its wake
ashes…..
and

silence

then

gilded wings begin to form

to stretch out
gold and green
silver and blue
such a mesmerizing hue

opening slowly
against the charred black remains

she is a warrior
sword of her soul
her savior
and the pregnant fire
gave birth to a goddess
a phoenix

as she tries her glorious new device of flight
and sees she can fly
higher than she ever dreamed she could go
into an achingly blinding bright
new sky

born of air

reborn in a conflagration and solemn gray ashes

her bare feet bruised no more
a snow queen of the wind flying free
her prairie heart can finally breathe

    Love this! Love the entire work! I think it is less developing strength and more just stepping outside our grief and disappointments allowing the greatness we are each born with to do its think.
