A truly ‘modern day’ Christ version that has been wonderfully well drawn in an almost photo-realistic style!
(Christ on the cross is one of my most fav. and repeated themes; so that’s why this one particularly appeals to me, I guess. I’ve studied looking at many different Christ on the cross ranging from Durer/Cranach/Dali/Picasso/-etc.) == I think, there are 2 things I like most about your style…
1) The subject matter. I always loved most the classical masters; and, your style does very much remind me of this; they seemed to have a heavy concentration on mastering realistic bodily form; and, also, such things as folds; and, too, were very interested in very careful composition/arrangement.
2) The skill with which you do both draw/paint. I think, nearly every artist wants…nay, DREAMS…of being able to draw/paint that well themselves…including me! ;-)
Though, I often wonder to myself…how does he do it? And, the only answer I can think of is…he must have copied the works of the ‘old masters’; and, most probably, learnt from them very successfully; then, went on to use the skills which he had learnt by applying it in an entirely modern way…that’s why I say your are a ‘modern day MASTER’…who seems to continuing in the footsteps and traditions of old.
the suffering is clear from the tighness in his face, and yet the gentleness and vulnerability is evident in all fullness, clearly it is who it is….reminds me of the works of Da Vinci, masterful, powerful

The sense of age, wisdom, suffering, beauty you have created here takes my breath away.
