Nam San Love by Kortney Thoma
Clear

Nam San Tower (North Tower) in Seoul has taken up a tradition first started on the Siene in Paris: afixing a lock with a message of love to a fence and keeping the key for eternity. While visiting on my last trip to Seoul in November 2011, my fiance and I put our own lock on the fence. Reading the stories and the messages left on the fence really makes you feel and appreciate how much love there is in the world. There were messages of regret, messages of hope, messages of unrequitted love, and messages like this one—of forbidden love. I still keep the key to our lock in my wallet as a reminder that as long as our lock is attached, our love continues.
