One of the most famous statues in Budapest. It was achieved in 1903 by artist Miklos Ligeti and represents an anonymous writer of the medieval time who wrote the first chronics (history) of the country for the hungarian King Bela.
Good entry for our Historic Landmarks of Europe group!

This is indeed a very creepy looking statue and wonderfully captured, you can almost see the glare of his eyes from under the cloaked face☺

    Love this pic Well done..
“Wants to sing ..Dont Fear The Reaper..”

    Love of two is one
    Here but now they’re gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn’t go on
Then the door was open and the wind appeared
    The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared…saying don’t be afraid….

I’m guessing the writer was a Monk.At first view though it looked like the Reaper sitting there.Definately creepy at first.
