I really love your new works, Ian…this is fabulous. So much going on in this scene that it makes we really want to study it so I don’t miss anything!

  • Thanks Marsha. I think I’ve overcome my fear of busy scenes but still find landscapes daunting which is what my only pupil hopes to learn. My efforts at these have yet to make it to the ‘bubble’!

And the result is wonderful! J’aime beaucoup les couleurs.

  • Merci Colombe. Je suis content que vous les trouvez OK. J’ai peur des rouges et verts!

What mistakes….. I am truly liking the “NEW” management of white space in your more recent works Ian. This is very fine work. Look’n good my friend.

  • Thanks for that Jim. I’m pleased then that I was able to correct things. The row of seated people to the right of the waiter had extensive lifting off then redoing….glad it turned out OK!

I love your watercolours. I’m not sure why, but they take me back to my childhood and escapism into those painted illustrations in the ladybird books.

  • Cheers Coleman. Is ladybird books good or bad…can’t remember, just know we had loads.

  • Thanks Lisa. There was a bit of work in this one cos I wasn’t happy with my first attempt and threw it on the fire . Had to draw it out again!!
