Another scene from the Wednesday market at Piégut in the Perigord Vert region of France.
.
My wife – Fran Evans thinks that the woman has a disdainful expression, which gave me my title.
I think the man looks a bit of a turtlehead

It was market day today here too….artichokes are for sure too much expensive anyway !!
Another beauty to your collection, Ian. Love both the man and the woman’s expression.
Also, the “cageots” of veggies are super bien faits..
Thanks Corinne. Hard times for all at the market, especially at those prices!!

I am in awe as well, amazing detail & wonderful watercolor. Cost me $3.20 for 1 banana the other day :-))
Cheers Rick. Hope it was a monster at that price!

WOW Ian…this is such a wonderful w/c painting. The detail is amazing. The perspective on the crates is so perfect…there is such a lot to look at…your skill with both brush and pen is very impressive. Love how you got the title…very clever and witty.
Thanks Lisa. This was a tricky one to paint, I have to admit!
