Front Façade - Bussière-Badil Church, France by

Watercolour on 325 gsm fine-grain paper 30×20 cm (approx)

W&N tubes – Burnt Sienna, Yellow Ochre, French Ultramarine

I’ve been meaning to do a painting of this doorway for some time as the other pictures that I’ve painted of this church don’t give a good indication of scale.

A rather stylised take on the stonework which is considerably more muted in colour.

This is beautiful, so strong, yet delicate , and the rows of bricks are PERFECT, all the way up. Did you get a teeny bit tired painting them all?
I love this. Well done indeed.

  • Thanks Kest. Not as tired as they got building it!
