Every Saturday morning this small market is held in the Place des Tilleuls in Montbron in the Charente region of France.

The original painting is sold

The painting was made from a series of photographs which I took of the market in the winter of 2009

    As a watercolour artist I seem to struggle with myself as to what is the right amount of colour and detail. Ian, this can serve as a model to what I personally want to achieve. Excellently done, very beautiful and with the perfect amount of colour and detail.
