Sharp Lazy Loops

Sharp Lazy Loops

I’m proud to report that this image is used as the cover-image for the 7-inch vinyl ‘Scars’ record by the Canadian punk/hardcore band called Damages
.
This is a fully detailed photo of a real piece of fencing in Weston-super-Mare. I couldn’t resist the paradoxically soft, curvy, lazy loops of unfriendly sharp razor-wire, sitting above the rigidly regular fence! I adjusted the image a little to keep that dark, dark background.
.
Thank you to the Just Lines Group and the Don’t Fence Me In Group for featuring this photo in 2008!
.
Many thanks to the Shapes & Patterns Group for featuring this photo, on July 9th 2009.

  • Colin S Pearson replied

Thank you very much Maria for your compliments :0) I’m really sorry that (while I was preoccupied with non-photography stuff for a while) I missed your proposal that I enter(ed) the ‘Patterns …’ challenge!

  • Marc Sullivan

    Marc Sullivan

Wow, this is great! Love the contrast of beautiful curves with sharp barbs and the straight and smooth. Perfect composition as well.

  • Colin S Pearson replied

Thanks Marc. I intend to pop around to the local company who’s fence it (still) is, to see if they can help me contact the chaps who erected this fence. I’d love to donate an RB-laminated print for their office wall as a salute to their workmanship!

hello Again ,, I have a challenge for this one…
    Please consider our Metallic Patterns

  • Colin S Pearson replied

Thanks Mario. I’d raced ahead and entered my “Radial Rodent barrier” to the challenge, and I’m scrabbling around trying to find if I can enter more than one image per challenge … ?

  • Maria Moro
  • Colin S Pearson replied

Thanks Mario!!!! There isn’t a smiley yet that says “Whew … thanks! So I’ll say Whew!!! and thanks :0)

    Maria Moro

Only one can be entered,, but you choose your favourite piece.. Sorry Colin,, didn’t mean to muck you about.. I love your work & it should be exposed for others to enjoy…

  • Colin S Pearson replied

No problem at all at all Mario, and thanks for swinging your light onto my wee corner of RedBubble’dom!

    Fantastic shot…....... love it x

  • Colin S Pearson replied

Thanks again sticky. This is my own favourite example that we don’t need expensive cameras to take good photos. I took this one on my first digital camera (a Konica Minolta A2), rather than its ‘orribly costly successor, my Nikon D200!
