The title refers to my first thoughts when I saw this evil-looking fighting machine.
It’s a Russian-built Mil Mi-24 (NATO codename Hind-D) in East German livery.
The place is the Luftwaffenmuseum (Air Force Museum) in Gatow right outside Berlin, Germany. This museum is situated most appropriately in a former airfield.
There’s an amazing collection of flying machines from the Cold War era here. All parked outside. And a fine collection of older aircraft inside in a couple of hangars.
