The 7th Wave

The 7th Wave

I have learnt sometime in the past, that due to the fact that waves aren’t moving at the exact same speed, every seventh of them is double and hence much more powerful. While I was panning this shot, one of these more powerful waves rolled in, and washed a couple of meters up where I was standing bent down with my camera low. In situations like this you must think fast, and though the water is freezing cold I guess my curiosity for having an interesting shot made me choose to ignore it.
Naturally I got wet feet. But I’m getting used to it, it happens quite often. Hope it’s worth it.

It was rather calming that day. It was the aftermath of lots of rain and wind.

Beautiful shot, love the sky, didn’t know about the seventh wave, I had noticed every so often one comes in stronger and further though. I have been caught a few times myself.

  • Kofoed replied

Thank you very much, Marie. Your nice comments are much appreciated.
We’ll have to count, shan’t we? I’m usually moving as close to the water as possible, so I get caught quite often. Guess I should get myself a pair of rubber boots!

Lol, I nearly lost mine last week. picking my way through rock pools to get an angle on a rock suddenly I sank up to my knees. I panicked for a minute then looked to see if anyone had seen. I got out ok.

  • Kofoed replied

I’m glad you got your feet and boots up again, Marie.
