Against the Wall
I’ve been into black & whites lately. It all started with me borrowing a book about Lightroom from a fellow photographer here. I am amazed about this little program’s powers on B/W conversion work. By the way, the book is “The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Book” by Martin Evening. Highly recommended, now it’s out on version 2, which I’ve ordered from Amazon.
Working with B&W’s in Lightroom is amazing. Almost takes me back to the happy days of film developing.
And most suitable I had a series of shots from December 26th, at which time I was visiting my son and grandson north of Copenhagen. This day was a wonderful, foggy day. Funnily, days like this make me feel melancholic. In the good sense, that is, a very pleasing feeling. I don’t know why, though.

I understand the melonchaly feeling and it IS wonderful. What I like so much about this photograph is how it pulls me into the bench first then my eyes move out … to the adjacent wall then still farther out to that lovely mist among the trees! It just pulls me in and suddenly I am there … walking down along the tree line and looking back at the bench and wondering. Wondering who sat there … what magic there is in this!
Kofoed replied
Judi, wish I could explain properly how much I appreciate and enjoy your wonderful comments. They’re pure poetry! You can even express my thoughts and feelings better than I can myself!
Thank you very much – from the bottom of my heart.
Kofoed replied
Thanks awfully for the favouriting, Judi. I’m honoured.
Marvin Collins
Beautiful work Kofoed!! I really like the perspective and you’ve got a bench for Rosalie.
Kofoed replied
Thank you so very much, Marvin. I’m so happy you like it.
Yes, maybe Rosalie could cool down a bit here – just read that they have around 40 degrees C down there, whereas here is freezing cold.

I sure would love to try lightroom …I have heard good things about it :)

I think you should try it – I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. I think I have seen somewhere, that it’s possible to have it as a 30-day trial for free.

Gilberte
very nice composition Kofoed (or should I call you Keld now?)
No wonder nobody is sitting on the bench, it’s much too cold and I can see it Good you added the long walk so I can step further.(D’un pas militaire!)
Kofoed replied
Thank you very much, Gilberte. So nice to hear from you.
Yes, it was so cold that I think you couldn’t rise again, if you sat down.
My French is a little rusty, but I think I understand.
Thank you.
Kofoed replied
Oh, Gilberte, you may call me either. You see, Keld is my first name and Kofoed is my middle name. Kofoed is a very special name for the island of Bornholm, and we speak with a funny and easily recognizable dialect to the rest of the country. So, all other Danes would be calling anyone from Bornholm for “Kofoed”. During my 10-year stay near Copenhagen, everybody called me Kofoed. So I’m used to respond to either name.

great photo! and thank you for the info. i used to work a lot in the dark room which
i miss… getting the book soon! :)
Kofoed replied
Thank you very much, Woof. Much appreciated.
I’ve worked in a darkroom a lot also, and I oftentimes miss it and the sticky smell of the chemicals. Lightroom is reminding me a little of those days.
You can look forward to the book.

There is so much to like about this- the open gate invites you in, the bench invites you to sit a spell, the wall invites a walk, and the mist invites mystery, Gotta love it.
