Back garden, Harleston Norfolk, Uk taken in May 2010 at 7am, must of been a shot I grabbed prior to me going to work.

Today I seem to be in a B&W frame of mind when it comes to my images. I started out with a white and pale pink tipped Apple blossom and when finished it was a B&W image.

Seems to suit my mood today.

Nikon D90 18-105vr Lens

FL105mm
F.5.6
Exps 1/320 sec -0.7 step
ISo 200

Hand Held, AP, early morning natural light.

Cropped in Photshop CS3, then added into Efex Pro 3 colour. Added into the B&W conversion decided after a play to use dramatic contrast B&W once happy with that then used dark and light layer to darken the outside as leaves and small white buds still on show. Decided the pale buds had to go so had a go with the Clone tool in Photoshop Not had much luck with this before but as the back ground mainly all black this seemed to work better for me, faint white buds cloned out and a neater finish to over all image.

  • Thank you so much, got to say the sun at 7am just alights on this blossom and I am always dashing out in my dressing gown to capture the odd flower touched by the delicate light, glad to say its in the back garden my neighbours would get a surprise seeing me flat on my stomach in a large multi coloured dressing gown lying prown on the path way.

Agreed Karen, more b/w from you, pretty please :o)))

  • I will do my best want to try some people and candids like you do which are stunning but flowers if the light is right have my attention I do not feel I am invading their space..

    Understood, and fair comment :o))
No space invaded though, if the topic of your image is not aware you’re there :o))

  • Oh I am such a clumsy person and even if they are not aware of me has this mentla block in photographing people. What lens do you use Elle I only have 18-105 and still feel far to close to people.
