This wonderful Tower sits on a small hill over looking Lyme Park which is a national Park areaand building in Cheshire. It has a wonderful view of the surronding countryside.

I just love the brickwork and feel of this building. Afraid I cannot recall its name or purpose. I will have to do some investigating.

Ahhhh there I can help…This is the Cage.. used as a hunting lodge and an occasional jail for those caught poaching on the land.Built 1580 then pulled down and this better stone tower built in 1737.
Not sure having a meal up there tho as those poor servants having to drag everything up. Was a lovely view tho, I took a pano of it but havnt stitched it together yet.

Gosh it looks like it could do with some company out there! Beautiful work Karen, it looks so strong and resilient standing there, and the contrast with the cloudy sky helps the tower to stand out.

  • What a lovely comment Georgie thank you ever so much :)
