Octagan Tower Roof,Ely
Taken As is
This is not the best image but to get this I had to wrap my camera strap around my wrist stick my camera on my palm pointing upwards and stick my arm through a opening and push the button.
Simon and I where half way up the Octagan Tower and we were able to look down below to the center of the church or was able to get a closer view of the hand painted roof of Jesus done by the victorians. You can see all the stained glass windows that are at the top of the tower and eventually we made our way out to the roof.
Afraid I was unable to get a good shot looking down as I was unable to clamber onto the sill to get one, and im sure Simon would of stopped me as he would of had to hold onto my legs. LOL
Nikon D90 and Nikor 18-105 vr lens
Focal length 18mm

exposure 1/80th

hand held arm sticking out in to mid air a lot of feet above ground, so just a point and shoot.

gosh … makes me quite dizzy looking up … looking down might have made my stomach turn … I’m not hte greatest with sheer heights …
this is lovely stuff Karen :)
Karen Betts replied
Thank you well looking up was wonderful, i struggled to look down due to the height of the gaurd in front of me and it was through a open panel in the tower. Im afraid i made Simon go a bit wobbly he does not like heights. Just wanted to try and capture the beauty.

Wonderful capture Kaz, it’s almost like a massive man-made answer to the spiderweb, with beautiful touches of colour from the windows!

Lol no fair Karen! I have enough trouble taking shots with both hands or even a tripod and then you make it look so easy haha. Congrats on an excellent shot though it really does look great.

Lol well you did not see the other 6 or so deleted, pointing down into the bottom of the church did not work. I have no look with tripods either, get dreadful backache. Thank you for your lovely comment did make me laugh. A lucky shot. : )
