Hello! I am new here (just joined today). I guess in some ways I am a beginner with art too – I have never had any formal training, and although I’ve enjoyed art on and off since I was a kid, it wasn’t until very recently that I really got into it again and started to take it more seriously.
Over the past couple of years I have done a painting every now and then to hang in my own house. I always thought I might as well hang them up in my own house because they weren’t good enough for anyone else to hang up.
This all changed when a friend liked one of my paintings so much that she asked me to paint one for her to hang on her wall – she even paid me for it.
That made me think that maybe I was better at painting than I thought.
So, now, I’m starting on a very new (and scary!) path. I’m going to try to sell some of my work, which is really exciting!
Whether I sell anything or not, just the short time I have been here has been so inspirational – people have left lovely comments and I have really loved looking at other people’s work.
Lets hope this enthusiasm will continue!
