Artist's Description

This remark was made by Ebenezer Bryce when asked about his settling in the area of Utah presently named for Ebenezer and his wife, Mary, and known as Bryce Canyon.

This national park is located in Utah, USA and is not really a canyon but a series of horseshoe shaped amphitheaters caused by erosion of limestone cliffs. The resulting fairyland of formations is known as hoodoos. Viewed from the tops of the cliffs, unless one wishes to hike into the canyon, it is visited by travelers from across the world.
