Located in New Bedford harbor, Massachusetts, U.S.A., this lighthouse is an example of a caisson style structure. (It looks like a spark plug.) It stands at the entrance to Buzzard’s Bay.

I am deeply concerned about environment, wildlife, and animal welfare, feeling a strong commitment to leaving the planet in better shape for new generations. Therefore, I support a number of charities that reflect those interests.

I have a degree in English and Library Science, but if I had my life to live over, I would have loved to have been a photographer, writer, and/or National Park ranger.

You did an excellent job with this photo Nancy…you must have been taking a harbour tour…because it seems you’re so close and it’s such a clear picture …love it…fav.

  • Thanks a lot, Lorraine. We were headed out to Martha’s Vineyard on the ferry. I’ve gotten some pretty good shots from Fort Taber, too (though not as close as this one).

I love all the rusty details! A wonderful capture of this well weathered lighthouse!

  • Rust just adds character like wrinkles…..LOL! Thank you once again.
