The Ghosts Of War (in marble) by

In Washington D.C., there is a Korean War memorial, which depicts the faces of soldiers on marble. As the viewer looks into the grainy marble, the faces appear in abstract (and thus the grainy texture). As I shot the marble wall, reflections from the surrounding scene seemed to have the soldiers appearing from out of the past to remind us that our freedoms are paid for by sacrifices beyond time.

I am deeply concerned about environment, wildlife, and animal welfare, feeling a strong commitment to leaving the planet in better shape for new generations. Therefore, I support a number of charities that reflect those interests.

I have a degree in English and Library Science, but if I had my life to live over, I would have loved to have been a photographer, writer, and/or National Park ranger.

    Haunting image

  • Thanks so much, my friend. I almost didn’t post this because the marble makes the picture look grainy. It’s NOT the photo.
