Church Cove, Bristol, Rhode Island (from my condo balcony)……We had just had a quick evening shower which produced half a rainbow under the auspices of the setting sun The lavender light was spectacular, and the end of the rainbow shows as a bright spectrum on the horizon. That special light is known as Belt of Venus or Venus’ Girdle and is a phenomena that sometimes occurs after a storm. It is a reflection of the earth.

(This shot was not manipulated in any way.)

I am deeply concerned about environment, wildlife, and animal welfare, feeling a strong commitment to leaving the planet in better shape for new generations. Therefore, I support a number of charities that reflect those interests.

I have a degree in English and Library Science, but if I had my life to live over, I would have loved to have been a photographer, writer, and/or National Park ranger.
