Between a Rock And a Hard Place by

Small boat challenges the ice at Sawyer Glacier, Alaska off the inside passage.

Glaciers all over the planet are rapidly receding. It will be just a matter of time before they are gone with rising waters inundating coastal cities and shrinking land masses. Polar bears will be extinct as well as marine life, and the earth as we know it will no longer exist.

Even if we take immediate action, which energy giants are fighting every step of the way, we can only mitigate the consequences of climate change. If we do nothing, life on this planet may not recover.

I am deeply concerned about environment, wildlife, and animal welfare, feeling a strong commitment to leaving the planet in better shape for new generations. Therefore, I support a number of charities that reflect those interests.

I have a degree in English and Library Science, but if I had my life to live over, I would have loved to have been a photographer, writer, and/or National Park ranger.

The boat really gives a sense of scale.

Looking at the awesome majesty of this from that boat I’d feel like one of the Argonauts going up against the Gods.
