Artist's Description

Blue Jay is native to North America. It is predominately blue with a white breast and under parts, and a blue crest. It has a black u-shaped collar around its neck and a black border behind the crest.

Sexes are similar in size and plumage. They are sometimes called sentinels of the woods making loud noises warning other wildlife that someone is approaching their territory.

Photo was taken in my backyard in Kenosha Wisconsin, USA with a Canon Rebel XTI using 18-55mm lens.

Featured in “The Best Of Anything And Everything” group.
