Photographed at Brainard Lake, Colorado. When I photographed this scenic it was still dark outside and I was hoping that I would maybe get a little light as sunrise was just under a half hour away. I was also fortunate that overall the scene was very quiet and still, something which I find doesn’t happen often at this location before sunrise. I really wanted to get the reflection badly along with the slight pink hue the mountains had. It was absolutely stunning to put it rather mildly. There was something too about the blue in the sky, this deep turquoise which just really grabbed my attention. I set up a few shots of the scene trying to figure out my best exposure times when suddenly the light I was hoping for started to dimly show up within my images, hitting the Indian Peaks and the forest below. Overall this is one of my favorite landscape from this Autumn. I hope you enjoy it as much as I.
