Central City, Colorado
Last Autumn I set out to explore areas that other photographers often times overlooked or never considered to photograph here in Colorado. My state during this time of the year becomes very busy with photographers from all over the country and world coming here to photograph the incredible color and landscape which happens during the months of September and October. So in my quest I decided to look for areas that would be remarkable and yet get me the shots that others wouldn’t have because they simply weren’t there to take them. This is one of those photographs. Photographed in the historic mining town of Central City, this scene just said it all to me as I photographed it. There are scenes which really tend to speak to me as a photographer and this one pretty much summed up everything with how I feel about Autumn in the mountains, it’s bench inviting folks to slow down and take a few minutes and just relax and enjoy the sheer beauty of it all; the reflection of the Aspen trees in the pond, the fresh air, the quiet and tranquility of it all. Often times when life gets hectic, I sometimes open this shot and just sort of mediate on it. Welcome to where I go to get away from it all.
