I photographed this cute little baby Cottontail this past Sunday evening at St Vrain State Park here in Colorado. My guess is that he was seeking the fresh cool grass on the evening of the year. How hot? The thermometer in the car at times said 103. Sweltering is a good word and thank you very much for AC. Even when shooting this in the late evening, hanging out the car window with my Puffin Pad, my 400mm lens which happens to be black was at times burning my hands and at one point I had to reach for my Lowepro gloves to make sure it didn’t. He was really fun to photograph and made for a good model too, allowing me about 10 minutes until he no longer thought that I was a thread. Gaining his trust he kept getting closer and closer until I could practically reach out and touch him. I simply love their eyes, so beautiful with how they show so much life. Fun stuff! I hope you all like it.
