I shot this today, feeling inspired by one of the photo themes on G+ titled “#MacroMonday” and I had been thinking for about a week on this. I really don’t do much in the way in the way of macro work as I really haven’t had the equipment to do it, until now. I have always been inspired by the artwork of Michael Brown (Google “Macro Art In Nature”, trust me you will be glad you did!) and have studied his work for a very long time. There is something about the almost romantic impressionism his floral macro photography contains…abstract yet identifiable. Finally I decided to really take the plunge and see what I could do, this is one of the results.

I wanted something that showed not your average flower, something that studied the light, color, patterns and textures within the subject.
