Bathed In Alpinglow

Sometimes waking up at 2:30 am to get to Rocky Mountain National Park for the sunrise and first light has it’s payoffs….and this was one of those shots. Shot in Estes Park, Colorado, thoughts welcomed!

YUM! Love the candy colors! So pretty :) It’s interesting how every element of this photo seems to move in practically perfect horizontal stripes (the ground, the strip of snowy peaks, the strip of clouds, and the strip of purple at the top), except for the dip in the hills and lower mountains which breaks up the geometry… Only you could capture something right out of nature and set it up so that it looks like you put everything there purposefully ;-P

great colors, love that sky!!!!!!!! is this shot recent? If that’s the case then most of the snow has melted since when I was up there last

  • John De Bord P... replied

Yep, it’s recent, in fact just a couple before your comment
