Golds

Autumn and the color of love, life, romance…This year I set out to do something a little different that would involve a more intimate experience with capturing the textures of the leaves themselves (thanks to my new Sigma 28-90mm Macro and Diopters) and try to convey a sense of emotion and feeling for the viewer. I wanted something that would look good hung on the wall as an accent piece but also have the ability to stand on it’s own with artistic merit. Did I succeed? You be the judge.

Minolta 5D
Sigma 28-90mm Macro and stacked Hoya +2, +4 Diopters for an almost 2:1 magnification.

Nice idea, John! I’m not sure about the amount of blurriness. I think I would like to see a bigger area sharp, or maybe a little less blur around. But that’s just my personal opinion, and I’m not even convinced about it myself, ;-). It might look very different if you blow it up to a much bigger size, which it probably is supposed to be.

Thanks though I rather like the narrow DOF or selective focus if you will, it draws the viewers eye in to where I want it and kind of “pushes” them to notice the detail if that makes sense?
