Captured while storm chasing on the plains of Colorado, I was actually out to capture the sunset this evening bu8t instead, went running after clouds and thunderstorms, something that I have wished to and wanted to do.

Wonderful combination of sunlit parts and dramatic, dark clouds! A lightning strike would have been the perfect touch. But that’s hard. I was trying to capture lightning behind North Table Mountain yesterday, without success.

Fabulous light here. That sky is frightening. I think the speed limit sign adds a nice counterpoint – as though our meager attempts at civilization mean nothing to the power of nature.

Incredible sky… so intensely blue

I haven’t been around on RB for a long while, but I’m glad I logged in today and found this. The mean looking skies you get right before and after a storm are my favourite and this view makes me wish I was there, going down that road and smelling the moist air right before the thunder rolls in.
