A Conversation With the Clouds

A Conversation With the Clouds

Captured at an elevation of 11,990 ft (3,655 m), standing atop Loveland Pass is like being able to touch heaven and the clouds. When I captured this, the slight hint of the scent of snow was in the air, and conditions up here can change literally by the second. It is right along the Continental Divide, and the views from up here are simply paradise!

Processed in HDR and captured on my Minolta 5D using a Minolta 18-200 DT Lens and a Hoya Polarizer

That is some height to be up John and no wonder that the clouds look so near and within touching distance as they ease past this beautifully lit mountain top. I love the way the mountain shapes down with a seemingly minimal amount of ease and the textures left uncovered by the snow show off the terrain of an otherwise smooth snowey landscape

I know this area very well, there is a trail that goes right up that ridge that is visible and it splits up at the top, to the north goes to Mt. Sniktau and to the right/south it goes to Grizzly Peak. ;-P
