Introducing leggings. You’ll never run out of inspiration.

Okay…I have to admit this is not an original scene of mine…
I found this pic on an old postcard and it just called out to me to recreate it.
Reminds me of my parents. (Roz & Ralph… (RIP)
When I was a young keiki they would be “steppin’ out” on Saturday Night
It was in B&W so I had no idea where to start with colors.
36×48 acrylic on stretched canvas.
“credit to anonymous artist for the inspiration”
I sincerely hope I did not cross any artistic lines.

Ballroom dancing … my parents however, they learned to square dance … I can still hear them “swinging” their partners in paradise! I am sure there is dancing in heaven and everyone is so light on their feet!!!! Light as feathers.

  • somehow I knew you had a story…mahalo for sharing..
My parents spent their retirement years in New Mexico and took up square dance as well. They loved it. Perhaps they are do si do-ing together…
I taught square dance as one of my activities when I was teaching PHys. Ed. Oh what fun!!

I can remember as a young boy dancing with my mom. I was in PJ’s and she was in an evening gown. My dad (in his white dinner jacket) was usually taking home movies. Like someone else has already stated – great image-great story.

  • Don’t you wish they had tri-pods back then… My dad is missing in all the old movies…as I am just a voice in my boys old movies.

I just can’t picture you square dancing! You’ve done a great job with this…it’s very sort of vougueish (if there’s any such word) -I’m sure the anonymous artists would be pleased.

  • There are probably many thing youjust can’t picture me doing…Remember I taught Phys Ed. for over 30 years…
