Inspired by my love for sea life and the oceans of the world
AS a side note
For those of you who knew Sean
I have to tell you he is doing great………
I had the opportunity to swim out about 500 yards to a buoy and find him.
He was just chillax’n at the bottom of the buoy line when I saw him……’
He seemed to be aware of my presence and started to surface………
When he surfaced he was HUGE……….and I mean H U G E
He came within inches of me……
Face to Face as if he knew who I was…….
We hung there eying each other in awe……..
After a few minutes which seemed like hours he turned around…
Allowed me to grab onto his back foot (the feeling was completely surrealistic)……….
He then turned his head around to me as if to say:
*_ALOHA KJ….IT"S ALL GOOD………SHAKA BRAH!!!
He then proceed to dive down to the depth of the kai where he was eternally enjoying his beloved Maui…….
Move Slow my brudda…..YOU ARE MISSED_*

Sea turtles have graced our oceans for more than 75 million years.
These ancient reptiles are among the most fascinating of all marine inhabitants.
Here in Hawaii, three species of sea turtles are considered native:
the green (Honu), ……the hawksbill (Honu’ea)……. and the leatherback.
Honu-Hawaiian Sea Turtles
The Honu, or Hawaiian sea turtle, is the Hawaiian symbol of longevity, peace, good luck, humility, long life and the spirit within. In Hawaii, legend tells about a green sea turtle, Kauila, who could change herself into a girl to watch over the children playing at Punalu’u Beach on the Big Island. When Kauila’s mother dug her nest, a fresh water spring surged upward, quenching the children’s thirst. Kauila is the “mythical mother” of all turtles, and perhaps of our children as well. It’s also said that turtles were the guides for the first voyagers to Hawaii.
