There is a story about this painting…......
I had a showing at a Gallery last year at Arizona State University…..
I offered a gesture to one of my gurlz (Minerva is married to my eldest boy) to pick a painting of one she liked…....
Well she went around and said “I like this, I like this , I like this, etc for many paintings….....
Then she comes to this one and say “BUT I WANT THIS”
I had just finished it and had not even signed it or doved it yet….I was in a hurry to get it to the show…......
What was I to do ….my gurlz knows me so well and have me wrapped around their pinkeyz….........their blinking of their eyes helps them too….
So needless to say This piece proudly hangs in their house.

Used my sliced wine boxes for all the parts…...........hic....
stretched fabric on both sides of all four shutters to paint on front and back….....
scene is made of 4 frames (from boxes) connected to make one large frame…....

I love this…now see, I didn’t have to answer your question…guess what’s behind them ....you showed us. Have to say what a brilliant idea to have each shutter on a working hinge … so this mean the other painting of the shutters is also this one when the shutters are closed … you clever kāne you … a fav for me my friend :)

yes the white is on the flip side of the red shutters…....
After I made my frames I stretched fabric around both sides like a very tight pillow case….......and painted on both sides….....
it was a fun project to do….........
