the fabric became quite textured when I started painting…Sometimes I never know how the fabric will react…all fabrics tend to do different things…

Beautiful work kj. I’m interested in your comments about the fabric…what sort of fabric do you paint on? Is it stretched on a frame? I love bougainvillea…I used bright magenta bgv to decorate all the tables at my daughter’s wedding some years ago. It looked gorgeous on the white tablecloths.

I make my own frames and stretch the fabric by hand…then coat the fabric with a latex paint…thattakes about a dy…then I go to work on my paintignwith acrylic paints..each piece takes anywhere from 6-16 hours to complete..All paintings are coated with a gloss or sateen varnish

My frames are usually cut from wine boxes, My laregr pieces I have to cut to size..and I use all sorts of fabric…whatever find on sale. cotton, teri, nylon, etc..

they have no smell…just pretty pink paper like feel…they get raked and tossed…when they end up in the pool they get bleached out…what a mess…and thorny!!!!
