Da Bronx Is Burnin'
I set out to create an abstract painting…
I really had no Idea how to start abstract….
Carolyn challenged me…
I read that you are to just let thing flow…
I starteld to let it flow and all of a sudden I’m creating buildings…
I am not very comfortable with this abstract thing so here is what I ended up with….
I had to add the bridge…
my appologies to all you wonderful abstract artists…I just can’t seem to figure it out
acrylic on vinyl album

I had just commented on this, when blasted RB popped up Log In, I have been logged in for ages AND working on it. This is great KJ and if you want it to be an abstract then it is, an abstract doesn’t usually have as much shape, but this is how I do them too. haha

Kudos for trying something different kj. That’s part of what art exploration is and what every artist should do from time to time just to keep from getting in an artistic rut. Great effort.

No appologies needed .. this is great … Abstract is in the eye of the beholder anyway. You never know what someone else might see. But this is real and very good. ANd the Bronx is burning ….

This is awesome…..don’t apologize…..heck, when I paint, I call my work that when nobody else can tell what it is…..I say…oh, it’s an Abstract…..although it was a portrait of the dog….I don’t paint very well….thank goodness for the computer….lol

Looks great, kj! Different from your usual, but still very good. I like it, whether you call it an abstract or not…
Rosalie Scanlon, 5 months ago
Very nice, but I do like your tropical work better.

It’s great to stretch and see where you end up…and I love where you ended;)

I was as fascinated by your description as by your painting. I too, did my first abstract recently, and had exactly the same trouble as you. Where to start and how to do it? What to do? Why? Just let things flow? What things? So many questions. Glad I’m not the only one! Great result kj! (What was the albulm before it became ground?)

You could do what Tiger Woods does. Take a bunch of golf balls filed with paint, and just whack then across the canvas :) This one’s nice. Reminds me of a cold rainy day in the Big Apple.
kjgordon in reply to Roland Pozo’s comment, 5 months ago
That is a great idea…when I hat a golf ball it usually goes all over the place anyway..hooks, slices, shanks, tops, etc..I need a Mullagin!!!
