ok that wasn’t too hard MAD1/SKASE/MINE

It is used heavily in this photo, and you have exhibited it and sold it. Some measures need to be gone to to ascertain the artists. Under Victorian ©, these artists own the © to that image.

I am more than happy to give credit for the picture and would have done so if I had known the artist but you can’t copyright public art and you definately can’t copyright illegal pieces. The day I took the picture I had no intentions of using it as a photo montage but that is how it went and it is just that, I am not claiming to have painted the image. If you look back at some of my forum posts I have actually started posts objecting to the blatant use of graffiti images in straight photographs but in this case I have taken 2 photographs and made them into a separate art work in its own right. I have just studied copyright law as part of my art course and I am not infringing on any laws with this work but having said that, I am more than willing to give props to the artist responsible for the original image.

I have researched the specific copyright laws on graffiti and admit my teacher gave me wrong information. I must clarify that I am not one of the people that sees graffiti as vandalism and I even see the validity of tagging for practice, this attitude has come from friendships with graffers in NSW. I definitely didn’t set out to steal anyones images. It was Jo O’brien from RB that selected my work as the piece to be exhibited and she did so because of the composition. I am more than happy to acknowledge the artist in which ever way you would like me to.
