    Totally agree with you Silvia, I reckon these guys would make a great Dr Who episode, a story about how they came to be like this. I hoped the sepia tones would add to the mood.

    I actually thought of you when I took this shot but didn’t think your phobia extended to these so called ‘laughing clowns’............... they wont eat you, you just have to shove a ball down their throats!

    recent survey of child psychology said that up to 90% of children find the image of clowns (but not necessary clowns themselves) frightening. there’s definitely something tortured about their winsome masks.

    that doesn’t surprise me at all bearhat, especially when I think about those creepy crying clown pics.. you know the ones. Wonder why something that is supposed to make you laugh scares the bjesus out of you?

    I love these clowns!!! Great minds think alike – about a month ago I put up Scream ... similar but different!!! Love your rendition – works well in sepia.

    That’s amazing Rosalie, they have different makeup and colours but the face is the same (I wonder if there is a universal mould for ‘laughing clowns’) and I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought of them as screaming (albeit in silence).
