    i love your images!
you just have to love old cameras huh? i have a bit of a collection myself but most aren’t working…

  • Kitsmumma replied

Thanks so much scott. Yes, I love my Argoflex. Do you have a TLR or one with a large viewfinder in your collection? It doesn’t have to work (as long as the viewfinder and lens is intact), you just take a photo with a digital camera of the image in the viewfinder of the old camera.

    Damn!

This reminds me of a french film titled ‘The Red Balloon’. It was and still is my favoiurite all time film. A boy has a red balloon and it gets away from him and he follows / chases it through the streets of Paris. Love this to bits.

  • Kitsmumma replied

Sounds wonderful Robert, I will have to look it up, bet it’s black and white and ummmmmmm…....red!
Imagine wondering the streets of Paris!

Your pictures are amazing , I am curious to know where you buy your films from.
I have an old Ensign box camera ,I bought it at a car boot and it is in good condition , but I have look in several places to try and find film with no luck I think it needs a reel as well.

  • Kitsmumma replied

Hi Irene, thanks so much for your comment.
With TTV photography, you are not actually using the old camera to take the photo. You use a digital to take a macro photograph of the viewfinder of the old camera, ie, you compose your shot through the old camera, then take a macro with your digital of the viewfinder of the old camera, no film involved unless the ‘newer’ camera is analogue and not digital. Hope this makes sense.
Take a visit to the TTV Group, some wonderful examples and more information here.
I think the Ensign’s viewfinder might be a little too small for TTV. Keep your eye out for old TLR cameras that have a large viewfinder.
    :)
