=============================================================

Golden Wattle, fairy stuff
Little balls of yellow fluff
Hear the bees how loud they hum
To say they’re glad that Spring is come

When the stars begin to peep
Then the wattle falls asleep
Like a tired child in bed
It droops its pretty curly head

Anon.

I was just looking up ttv on google – still not 100% sure but this i love – definitely has that vintage feel to it – love the colour and the detail – and i am real sucker for a bit soft focus – this is just dreamy :)

  • Kitsmumma replied

Hi Deb, if you’ve got an old camera with a large viewfinder on it, give it a go, it’s harder than it looks but a lot of fun. I’d love to see what you could come up with. I love the distortion and softness I get from my Argoflex and the dust!!! I had these wattles pressed right up against the lens and used the macro on my Canon.

Thanks so much Alison, I was holding onto the little sprig and just stuck it into the lens.

WOW!! how spectacular! I recently photgraphed some wattle myself but it was quite ordinary compared to your shot, it is just wonderful, cheers- Valerie

  • Kitsmumma replied

Thanks so much Valerie, lovely compliment. I tried quite a few times before I got this one, bit tricky with TtV. Appreciate your comment.

Thanks Sylvia – i might just do that :) And you are right it doesn’t sound easy :) I have just bought a polaroid – i am hooked – i think it might turn into an expensive hobby if i am not careful though lol!! There’s a great website called Polanoid (.net i think) – have a look – there are some brilliant images on it.

  • Kitsmumma replied

I love the quality of Polaroid and can only imagine what you will create with it Deb, wonderful stuff. I heard on the radio the other day that Australia only has enough Polaroid film left to last till about 2010! I think there is a petition going to try and keep the production going. Polanoid looks cool, will check it out more after I’ve had some sleep!

I got it really cheap off ebay (paid £12.50 and that include a film of 10) – the film is expensive though – I really hope there can be a reprieve somewhere down the line for it – the film i got was out of date so it had this great 70s retro feel to it – i am really into the snapshot at the moment – i wanted the sx70 but the film is so hard to get and on ebay i was a pack of 20 for nearly £100 (sorry don’t know what that is in dollars) – but it’s a lot. Anyway, hope to get something scanned soon – enjoy Polarnoid – no need to comment back just get some sleep :)

I just love your Through the Viewfinder images…. I can’t believe how quickly you got the hang out of it. It’s got such a special feel to it and your compositions is always spot on. Brilliant!!!

  • Kitsmumma replied

hehe, I don’t do anything by halves Dorit. You would laugh if you saw me taking these, with my home made plastic container light/reflection blocker. It looks pretty funny stuck over the top of the old camera with the lens of my Canon stuck through a hole I cut in the other, works most of the time but it’s very awkward and looks ridiculous!
