To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Kith and Kin Association Ltd in 2006, the organisation held a local art competition for adults with disabilities.
The artwork was displayed in conjunction with Disability Action Week of that year.
Art workshops were held once a week for several months leading up to this exhibition.
These workshops provided people with disabilities, in the community, to express their creativity, gain insight into and have access to, the cultural arts.
Because of the popularity of the original one-off project, it was decided that the art workshops would continue. A regular program, now known as ArtWorks! was established.
KithArt represents a body of work created by the ArtWorks! clients.
Full permission has been obtained from the participants for the display and sales of their work and all proceeds from the sale of work on Red Bubble goes to the artists.
Sales of their work gives our clients a sense of achievement and self-esteem and offers them the opportunity for a little financial independence.
We hope you will enjoy their work.
